Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Features involving mature or adult content ("18+ content") require age verification confirming you are at least 18 years old. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.

2. Account & Authentication

Accounts are created via third-party authentication (Google OAuth). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You may not share your account or allow others to access it. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized use of your account.

3. AI-Generated Content

StoryCrush uses large language models (LLMs) to generate text responses. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or unpredictable. We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or suitability of any AI output. AI-generated content does not represent the views of StoryCrush.

4. User-Generated Content

You may create characters, stories, and other content ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it on the Service.

You agree not to create or upload content that:

• Depicts minors in sexual or romantic situations
• Promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activities
• Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
• Contains personally identifiable information of others without consent
• Is spam, misleading, or designed to harass other users

We may remove any content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion.

5. Safety Filter & Mature Content

The Service includes a safety filter that is enabled by default. Disabling the filter to access 18+ content requires age verification (date of birth confirmation). By disabling the safety filter, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that viewing mature content is legal in your jurisdiction.

6. Subscriptions & Billing

Paid features are available through subscription plans processed by Polar, our Merchant of Record. Polar handles payment processing, billing, refunds, and applicable taxes on our behalf. Your use of paid features is also subject to Polar's Terms of Service.

• Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until canceled.
• You may cancel at any time through the customer portal. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
• Refund requests are handled per Polar's refund policy.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by StoryCrush. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service. Character templates and system prompts provided by us remain our property.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StoryCrush shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
